Besides the property price there are known costs: title deed fee (4% of the declared value; who pays it is agreed with the seller), the valuation report, translation and notary fees, legal fees, and residence permit and passport fees. Frequently asked questions
Can the $400,000 be split across more than one property?
Yes. You can buy several properties as long as their combined value, according to the valuation reports, is at least $400,000 and the no-sale commitment is registered on each one.
Does citizenship include my spouse and children?
Yes. Your spouse and children under 18 are included in the same file. Children over 18 need a separate application.
When can I sell the property?
After the commitment period ends, 3 years from the date it was registered on the title deed. Selling after that does not affect your citizenship.
Does an off-plan property qualify?
It can, if it meets the legal requirements and is registered correctly. We review each project individually before recommending it.
How long does the whole process take?
From purchase to submitting the citizenship application usually takes about 10 days. The authorities then review the file, which typically takes 30 to 90 days.
Do I need to live in Turkey or give up my current citizenship?
You do not need to live in Turkey, and Turkey allows dual citizenship. Some countries do not allow their citizens to hold a second nationality, so check your own country's law. A few steps require you to be present, and we tell you about them in advance.
